What is an ATS?

An Applicant Tracking System is the software recruiters use to store, parse and screen applications. Roughly 75% of Fortune 500 companies filter CVs through an ATS before a human sees them.

How does an ATS read a CV?

It converts your PDF or DOCX into plain text, splits sections (Experience, Education, Skills), extracts dates and titles, and matches keywords against the job description. Anything the parser can't read — images, columns, headers, icons — is silently dropped.
